At Casa Milanesi, we tackled the exciting challenge of transforming a 100-year-old stable into a luxurious modern home while preserving its original charm. Our design philosophy is centered around timeless structural details with a modern twist that accentuate the existing elements. We wanted a minimalistic interior that highlights natural colors and materials, handmade and artistic pieces and a rural feel in a modern setting.

Casa Milanesi truly captures the essence of rural Istria while offering all the luxuries of a modern home. Our attention to detail is reflected in the selection of high-quality materials, pleasing both to the eye and touch, while also being easy to maintain and long-lasting. The color palette is a contrast of warm light and dark tones, featuring light whitened oak and beige walls complemented by dark walnut fixtures.
The living room
The living room area, added to the old stable building, features a flat roof and large glass windows that provide stunning views of the garden, complete with a long pool and olive trees. The fireplace is a perfect example of our approach, blending modern and comfortable living aspects with ceramics that evoke an old potassium stove. A concrete bench stretching from the dining to the living room area creates a cozy corner, complete with a hanging library and plants.

The kitchen
The kitchen, with its refined rural design, is immediately noticeable upon entering the space. It is equipped with all the latest home technology for comfortable cooking.
The bedrooms
The bedrooms feature a combination of exposed stone walls and textured wallpaper behind each bed. Pale green satin sheets are paired with linen cushions for a touch of luxury.
The bathrooms
The bathrooms are mysterious and dark with accent lighting. The central piece of these rooms is a crafted vanity, following a rural yet minimal aesthetic. The tiles are a combination of terracotta and mud colors with a relief that gives the feeling of natural materials.
